Open Letters to Dire Wolf Digital

Update May 2026 — Dire Wolf Digital has licensed Cortex to Rusty Sellsword Design, the design studio run by Cam Banks. In turn, Rusty Sellsword Design can sublicense the Cortex Prime RPG system to publishers and community members in order for them to create new games, settings, rules modifications, and so on. More details are yet to come, but with the release of the Cortex Prime Game Handbook and many of the Spotlight titles on Rusty Sellsword’s DriveThruRPG page, this means Cortex has a new lease on life in the community for active development.

The Cortex RPG is very important to the existence of Cortex Hacks (unsurprisingly), and we want Dire Wolf Digital to know that this game deserves a continuous (if not necessarily constant, although we’d like that, too!) stream of products and support to help keep Cortex front of mind for tabletop gamers.
